What Is UPL?

UPL (Unauthorized Practice of Law) happens when someone provides legal advice or represents clients without being licensed to practice law or recognized by the Department of Justice (DOJ).

In immigration, UPL is dangerous. It can:

Result in fines, jail time, business closures, or even criminal charges.
Lead to denied cases or deportations.
Harm immigrant families with incorrect filings.

Why It Matters
